Speed up your PC using Disk Defragmenter.
Over time, your PC gets slower and slower. As you install programs, delete files, save documents etc: the hard drive inside your PC gets cluttered up, with bits of software getting stored all over the place, this is known as fragmentation and has an adverse effect on the speed of your PC. To get your PC back up to speed you need to run "Disk Defragmenter", which is included with Windows. To run the program just click on "Start > Programs > Accessories > System Tools > Disk Defragmenter". Be warned, if your hard drive is very badly fragmented then this process can take a good few hours.

Is your PC running slower after installing Microsoft Office?
By default, when Microsoft Office is installed it runs a programs on startup called "Fast Find", to the majority of people this has very little use, and only serves to greatly slow down your PC. To stop this program from running on start-up you need to remove it from your start-up menu. To do this "Right-Click" on the "Taskbar" to the right of the "Start Button", then select "Properties", click on the "Advanced Tab", click on "Remove", click on the plus sign next to "StartUp", click on "Fast Find" then click Remove. Reboot your PC and you should find it is now quicker again.
